Starfield’s showcase stream showed off a lot of the game’s major systems, but it also gave us a look at the cool and nerdy items you can get with the game in the collector’s edition – plus, a hint at post-launch content.

The physical collector’s edition – known as the “Constellation Edition” comes with the obligatory steelbook case, but the main feature is the Chronomark watch, which is a replica of the in-game watch that acts as Starfield’s equivalent of Fallout’s Pip-Boy. It looks very sleek and stylish, but there is trepidation surrounding it, as Bethesda has had issues with collector's editions in the past.

Most famously, Fallout 76 caused controversy over the advertised canvas duffel bag that actually turned out to be a cheaper nylon bag when it arrived, but even before that, there were many complaints over the replica Pip-Boy in the Fallout 4 collector’s edition not working properly. Hopefully, the lessons have been learned and this one can go off without a hitch.

It comes with some digital rewards too, including a skin pack, soundtrack, and digital art book. There are 5 days of early access included, and you’ll receive the first story DLC, Shattered Space, upon its release. There’s no word yet on what this DLC will entail, but it’s nice to know that post-launch story content is on the way.

Starfield releases on Xbox Series X/S and PC on September 6, 2023.
