Creative Assembly has revealed the content additions for the Daemons of Tzeentch players can expect to see in the free content update for the Total War: Warhammer 3 Shadows of Change DLC that will arrive alongside the large Update 4.2.

Last week, the company detailed the additional units coming to the roster of Grand Cathay with that update.

Overall, 14 pieces of content will be added to the expansion pack to make it worth its price tag. Shadows of Change will be expanded with two generic lord types, two generic hero types, two Legendary Heroes, six additional units, and a brand-new Lore of Magic.

The Daemons of Tzeentch can primarily look forward to a boost in melee power, a highly requested reinforcement.

The Changeling is getting a few new pawns to play with.

The Chaos Lord of Tzeentch will be a new generic lord type, which is not only going to come to the Daemons of Tzeentch, but also the Warriors of Chaos factions. Sporting heavy armor, a big shield, and a mighty halberd, these guys are perfect to charge into the fray. Thanks to Tzeentch, their attacks have magical properties and they are protected by a magic barrier. They can also use a Disc of Tzeentch as a mount option, which is pretty neat.

Creative Assembly had to dig deep for a model fitting the Exalted Hero of Tzeentch, a new hero type coming with the update. Again, this unit will be available for the Daemons of Tzeentch and Warriors of Chaos. Based on a three-headed Tzeentch Champion from the early 90s, which game director Rich Aldridge himself found in his collection, this character wields a halberd and is specialized in anti-large combat. Like the Chaos Lord of Tzeentch, they benefit from barriers and magical attacks and can ride a Disc of Tzeentch.

Three heads think better than one?

Coming to both the Daemons of Tzeentch and the Beastmen are the Centigors of Tzeentch. They provide some heavy-hitting melee cavalry for the forces of Tzeentch, wielding powerful great weapons that piece armor. As they are marked by the Changer of Ways, they come with barriers and magical attacks. They also share the Arcane Charge ability with the Tzaangors of Tzeentch.

Finally, the Changebringers from the Storm of Chaos book make their debut. These are lightning quick versions of the Flamers of Tzeentch, riding Discs of Tzeentch to reach their targets before they have a chance to react and douse them in magical fire. They are, however, a glass cannon: Their barriers aren’t quite as strong as those of their lumbering counterparts.

According to Rich Aldridge, Creative Assembly wanted to release the update this week, but had to push it back a bit to address some final issues. We are probably going to get a release date as well as information on the additions for Kislev later this week.
