Update (November 14, 2023): Microsoft has confirmed the leaked information below. In addition, the company has announced that the following games will leave Xbox Game Pass on November 30, 2023:

  • Anvil (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Battlefield 1943 (Console) EA Play
  • Battlefield: Bad Company (Console) EA Play
  • Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (Console and PC) EA Play
  • Disc Room (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Eastward (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Grid (Console)

Original (November 14, 2023): The slow-paced real-time strategy game Dune: Spice Wars looks to be coming to Xbox Game Pass in the second half of November 2023, becoming available on consoles and the cloud. It's already on PC Game Pass.

This nugget of information was published by reliable leaker billbil-kun (via Dealabs) and should soon be officially confirmed. Developed by Shiro Games (Northgard, Wartales), Dune: Spice Wars casts the player as the head of one of the setting’s feudal houses. Competing against other factions for the control of Arrakis and its valuable Spice, players need to master the arts of war, diplomacy, trade, and intrigue to entrench their house as the most powerful – and profitable – force on the planet.

Dune: Spice Wars is expanding from PC Game Pass to the Xbox Game Pass.

Of course, Dune: Spice Wars coming to Xbox Game Pass for consoles means that the launch of the game’s Xbox Series X|S port is near. Whether a PS5 port is also being developed is not known at this time.

Aside from the RTS, the release schedule for the second half of November 2023 looks very light on Xbox Game Pass. Persona 5 Tactica, which was erroneously released on Steam for a brief time last week, is coming as a Day 1 title on November 17, 2023, with Rollerdrome following on November 28, 2023.

Last month, Xbox Game Pass added Cities: Skylines 2, F1 Manager 2023, and Like A Dragon: Ishin! to its library of available games. If you’re wondering when Activision Blizzard games will find their way onto Microsoft’s subscription service after the completed acquisition, then you’ll need to remain patient: Games like Diablo 4 and Modern Warfare 3 will come to Game Pass in 2024.
