Gamescom

Hosted in Cologne, Germany, gamescom is the biggest annual in-person video game convention in the world and features appearances by many of the largest publishers and developers in the industry. It usually lasts for five days in August, one of which is mostly closed to the public as a media day.

The convention often features new game announcements and added Opening Night Live, a digital showcase ahead of the event, to its regular schedule to adapt to the new circumstances of a post-Covid pandemic world. However, its main focus is to be a memorable event for fans and visitors with lots of activities at Kölnmesse and around the city. Cosplay as well as live events with content creators are steadfast points on the annual agenda.

In 2023, gamescom welcomed 320,000 attendees in Cologne.
