    How to find and open every Cult Stash in Alan Wake 2

    One of Alan Wake 2’s most important collectibles are the Cult Stashes. There are a bunch in every area that Saga explores, some requiring you to solve a puzzle, some requiring a key, and others simply have a pattern for you to copy. Each of these Cult Stashes has a bunch of items to make your adventure easier, including weapons.

    If you want the best possible chance of beating down the Taken foes ahead of you in Alan Wake 2 you should open up every Cult Stash you find, and in this guide we’re breaking down how to open up every Cult Stash in Alan Wake 2.

    This guide is now complete with all Cult Stash locations, keys, and solutions in Alan Wake 2.

    All Cauldron Lake Cult Stashes – AW2

    Rock Rock Tree Cult Stash solution

    This Cult Stash is surrounded by simple math equations: 3+3 7-2, and 6+2. The code for the Rock Rock Tree Cult Stash is 658.

    Lightbulb Streamside Stash Cult Stash key location

    Between the Witch Sign and the Cauldron Lake Shore there’s a campsite with a Cult Stash. Follow the luminous arrows on the rocks and trees to find the Streamside Stash Key, and take it back to this Cult Stash to open it up.

    This Cult Stash is a lock combination with Cult of the Tree symbols on it. You can figure out the code by looking at the symbols near the sink, on the fridge, and by the mattress in the nearby hut – or just use our pictured combination, which is left triangle points up and right points down, opposing triangles pointing up and down, and finally triangles pointing left and right.

    Rental Cabins Cult Stash solution

    This Cult Stash has a picture which is going to be a bit obtuse even for you smarties out there, but the tornado is the spinning child’s park outside, the castle is a cabin, the bridge is a tree you have to duck under, etc. Head to the end of the Rental Cabins area, near the gate that leads to the road, and aim your light at the trees. Look for a tree with a “2” on it, and search behind it for the key to the Cult Stash, which is in the bathroom of one of the cabins.

    All Bright Falls Cult Stashes – AW2

    There’s a Cult Stash behind a van outside the Elderwood Palace Lodge in Bright Falls. Simply repeat the pattern the lock shows to unlock it, which in our case is right, left, top right, top.

    Wellness Center Path Cult Stash location

    This is a simple Cult Stash where you copy the pattern to open it up, which in our case was down, right, up, left, center.

    Bunker Woods Cult Stash key location

    The Bunker Woods Cult Stash can be found Southwest of the Valhalla Nursing Home in the woods. There are luminous arrows that will point toward the Cult Stash hidden behind a rock, and once you get there you should follow the blue signpost arrows in order to find the Bunker Woods Stash Key.

    Another lightbulb Cult Stash can be found in Bright Falls, and if you use the combination in the pic above – or check the luminous paint on the walls and trees – you’ll be able to open it up. From top to bottom, it’s triangles pointing left and right (sideways diamond), two triangles pointing down, and then triangles pointing towards each other up and down.

    You can find the Ranger Station Cult Stash, um, well, near the Ranger Station, of course. The Ranger Station Cult Stash Key can be found outside the Ranger Station, near the chimney jutting from the side of the building.

    Bright Falls Dock Cult Stash solution

    Once you have the Boltcutters and can access the dock in Bright Falls, you’ll find a Cult Stash inside the hut here. Check the poles in the water for the numbers for the code – or just enter 697.

    Work Log Cult Stash solution

    This Cult Stash is between the abandoned building and the Police Station in Bright Falls. It notes some work that the person did in the nearby park – check the park for luminous paint to find the symbols you need to unlock the chest. They’re on the satellite dish, near the planter in the center of the park, and on the floor of the gazebo at the back. The code is two side-by-side triangles pointing up, triangles pointing away from each other left and right (sideways diamond), and two overlapping triangles pointing up.

    Sheriff’s Station Basement Cult Stash solution

    This one is fairly simple – the code is how many lines are used to make each of the shapes on the hint. So the answer is 146. This Cult Stash will reward you with the Lighthouse Key.

    All Watery Cult Stashes – AW2

    Crossbow Cult Stash solution

    The first Cult Stash in Watery contains the Crossbow, as hinted at by the label. For a full breakdown on how to unlock this Cult Stash, read our Crossbow code guide – but the simple answer is 527.

    Coffee World striped cups Cult Stash solution

    Take a good look at the ferris wheel. Each ferris wheel carriage is in the shape of a cup – Coffee World, so yeah, of course it is – and some of them are striped. If you remember just the numbers of the striped cups, you’ll find the code is 147.

    Behind the smile Huotari Well Cult Stash key location

    No puzzle for this one, instead a key is hidden nearby. Exit the Huotari Well area from the Southeast exit, leading to the Coffee World main area, where you’ll see a giant smiling statue sitting on the wall, behind it is a light under a gazebo that acts a safe area. Check behind the smiling statue and in the corner you’ll find Coffee World Cult Stash Key.

    Watery Lighthouse Cult Stash solution

    There are a bunch of confusing symbols in this area that hint at the Cult Stash lock combination, but you only need to look at three of them. The diamond, the two lines, and the three lines. These are the symbols you need for the combination.

    The combination is pictured above: two overlapping triangles pointing down, two overlapping triangles pointing up, and finally, two parallel (side-by-side) triangles pointing down.

    Check the right corner near this stash, there’s a blue box you can stand on. Stand on it to find a key on the pole. You can use this to open the Cult Stash.

    How many cars are in the factory Cult Stash solution

    I hate brain-teasers, I just want to say that now. Mental math is my weakpoint, and although I was on the right track, this puzzle about 200 total vehicles in a factory and 754 wheels melted my brain. Anyway, the answer is 177.

    I found this one even tougher than the last, and honestly? I hate it. This isn’t Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training, stop with the stupid equations. This is not fun, gonna be honest with you. Anyway, the answer is 496.

    Radio Tower path Cult Stash solution

    Thank god this doesn’t involve math. Just follow the light pattern again for this one, which is top left, right, top middle, top right, bottom left, left.

    Spare Parts Cult Stash solution

    This Cult Stash wants you to count the number of spare parts in the yard of the Koskela Workshop. The answer is 542.
