Final Fantasy 16 is out now, and if you’re looking to get more out of the combat, the first place you should look is the Hunt Board. Once you’ve unlocked them all, you’ll have 32 Hunt Board requests to complete, which are all powerful monsters and mercenaries.

Fighting them is – for the most part – pretty simple, but finding them is tough, as their exact locations aren’t given to you. Some of them aren’t specific in the slightest, just vaguely gesturing at where you might find the monster.

In this guide we have full maps for every Hunt Board monster location in FFXVI, so just dive in below for all the info you need to know.

While you’re hunting monsters, make sure to save your crafting materials for the Gotterdammerung, the most powerful weapon in Final Fantasy XVI.

How many Hunt Board quests are there? – FF16

There are 32 Hunt Board requests in total.

The Hunt Board has a grand total of 32 monster quests to undertake, but some of these are only available after completing – or sometimes even during – Side Quests. We’ll specify which those are down below.

All Hunt Board monster locations – FF16

Ahriman location – FF16

You will likely encounter Ahriman before any of the others Hunt Board monsters, during The Gathering Storm Main Quest.

It’s located South of Sorrowise – again, it’ll be on your path while undertaking the Main Quests.

Aruna, The Angel of Death location – FF16

Aruna is one of the tougher C Rank monsters.

You can find Aruna in Sanbreque, in the open plains of Claireview, just North of Leuret’s Knot.

Belphegor location – FF16

Square Enix

Belphegor is an intimidating hunt for an early player, but you can take it out pretty easily as long as you’re competent.

Belphegor can be found South of The Broken Hilt, down the long path Southeast of Eastpool.

Dozmare, Griffin location – FF16

Square Enix

This monster can only be found during the Blacksmith’s Blues side quest.

This fight takes place in Sanbreque, just South of Caer Norvent River Gate in Norvent Valley. Again, you need to be undertaking the Blacksmith’s Blues side quest.

Sekhret location – FF16

Sekhret is a nasty beast that needs putting down.

You can find Sekhret in the Northwest corner of Greensheaves in Rosaria.

Severian location – FF16

The Severian is causing trouble for the locals, so of course it’s up to Clive to take it out.

Severian is also in Rosaria, West of Martha’s Rest, in the North section of Sorrowise.

Flan Prince, Muddy Murder location – FF16

The Flan Prince is a tough wee bugger, but dodge its attacks and you’ll be just fine.

You can find it in the North section of Hawk’s Cry Cliff in Rosaria.

Fastitocalon, A Hill to Die On location – FF16

The Fastitocalon, also known as A Hill to Die On, is tough to find.

This beast is in the Northeast corner of Velkroy Desert in Dhalmekia, beyond The Bandit’s Bed.

Soul Stingers location – FF16

The Souls Stingers are a group of monsters, not a single beast.

You can locate them in Dhalmekia, just North of the Empty Hovel in The Fields of Carava.

Grimalkin location – FF16

Square Enix

Another foul beast due to meet the blade, the Grimalkin is a humble Rank C monster.

Also in Dhalmekia, Grimalkin can be found in The Cattery, South of The Sickle.

The Nine of Knives location – FF16

The Nine of Knives is a tough fighter in Dhalmekia.

You can fight it in The Jaw, South of Dalimil in Dhalmekia.

Atlas, The Breaker of Worlds location – FF16

Atlas is likely the first S Rank hunt you’ll take on, so make sure to prepare with a full stock of potions.

You can find Atlas to the East of Cressida in Rosaria.

Bomb King location – FF16

This monster is necessary for the Weird Science side quest.

You can find the Bomb King in The Crock, off The Imperial Chase, which itself is an offshoot of The Dragon’s Aery in Sanbreque.

The Ten of Clubs location – FF16

Another more standard humanoid monster.

This one can be found in Vamare, South of The Fields of Corava in Dhalmekia.

The Mageth Brothers location – FF16

There are three of these brothers in this fight, so make sure to prepare.

You can find The Mageth Brothers in Quietsands, North of Port Isolde in Rosaria. Check the beach.

Svarog, Ruin Reawakened location – FF16

Possibly the toughest Hunt Board monster, Svarog is a bit of a nightmare to take down.

Svarog is found in Sanbreque, South of Glorieuse, through Mornebrume.

The Pack location – FF16

This is another group of monsters, as opposed to a single tough beast – and yes, The Pack is only Rank C.

You can find The Pack to the South of Tabor in Dhalmekia. They’re hiding in a Southern offshoot of The Gilded Path between Tabor and The Fields of Corava.

Dread Comet location – FF16

The Dread Comet is a Chocobo-like enemy with some powerful magical attacks. Don’t get hit!

This one is also in Dhalmekia, on the West side of the Fields of Corava, found on the small path between The Fields and The Sickle.

Holy Trumpitour, The Man in Black location – FF16

Square Enix

This monster of a holy man wields a big explosive cannon – watch for it.

The creature is found in Sanbreque, South of Lostwing, through the Cellar Passage found in Lostwing.

Carrot location – FF16

You’ll need to find the Morbol known as Carrot in order to complete the Please Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol Side Quest.

You can find Carrot near the Three Reeds Obelisk. You can find it by either head on the path South from Martha’s Rest, or by hugging the North wall from the Three Reeds Obelisk.

Pandemonium location – FF16

Another S Rank monster, watch out for Pandemonium.

This beast is found off the Southern path in Wolfdarr, Waloed. It can be fought as you undertake the Footfalls in Ash Main Quest, which will have you wandering through this area anyway.

Gorgimera, Tricephalic Terror location – FF16

That’s “tricephalic,” with a single ‘L’, meaning it has three heads.

Gorgimera can be found in The Velkroy Desert, West of The Watcher.

Gobermouch location – FF16

This awful wee Goblin is an essential target for you to complete the Gotterdammerung, as it holds the Primitive Battlehorn.

You can find the Gobermouch at the back of Eistla in Waloed, South of The Mothers’ Mines.

Bygul location – FF16

The vicious Bygul – a big Coeurl – only spawns after a certain point.

Once the Bygul is out, you can find it just Northeast of the Ravenwit Walls Obelisk.

Agni location – FF16

This fiery monster is A Rank, and pretty tough if you’re not prepared.

You can find Agni between the Eistla and The Edge of Infinity Obelisks in Waloed.

Thanatos, Usher to the Underworld location – FF16

The Usher to the Underworld is called Thanatos, and it lurks in Dhalmekia.

You can find Thanatos between Kretov and The Gilded Path Obelisks in Dhalmekia.

Terminus, The Blood Moon location – FF16

Terminus is also known as The Blood Moon on the Hunt Board before you locate it.

This monster is actually in the same place as the Bomb King – Sanbreque’s The Crock, off The Imperial Chase, found South of The Dragon’s Aery.

Behemoth King location – FF16

The Behemoth King will only spawn after the Nobody’s Tool side quest is completed.

The S Rank beast will spawn in the North section of Vidargraes in Waloed. You should see it in the field if you head West from the Vidargraes Obelisk.

Kuza Beast location – FF16

The Kuza Beast can only be found during the Nobody’s Tool side quest.

The entire Nobody’s Tool sidequest takes place within the Balmung Dark prison in Waloed. This is closest to the Ravenwit Walls Obelisk.

Gizamaluk, The Wailing Banshee location – FF16

The Wailing Banshee, otherwise known as Gizamaluk, will only spawn after the Inconvenient Truth side quest.

You can find The Wailing Banshee in Garnick, to the West of Vidergraes in Waloed.

Prince of Death, The Grim Reaper location – FF16

The Grim Reaper – otherwise known as Prince of Death – will only spawn after you complete the Under New Management II side quest.

The Grim Reaper is located in Sanbreque, to the West of Northreach on Cape Orsiere.

Knight of the Splendent Heart location – FF16

The final monster on our list, the Knight of the Splendent Heart, will only spawn after you complete the Under New Management II side quest.

You can find the Knight of the Splendent Heart near the Royal Meadows Obelisk, at the Northernmost point of the Royal Meadows in Sanbreque.
