You’re given a bunch of options when choosing how to customize your wand in Hogwarts Legacy, including the core, type, what wood it should be made out of, length, rigidity, and even more.
But ultimately, none of these choices matter. Your wand in the game should be made to your preference, depending on what you think looks best or sounds coolest. Select the wand that you think best represents the wizard or witch you wish to create.

Wand Handles explained – Hogwarts Legacy
Wand Handles are purely decorative.
Wand Handles can be collected throughout the game in the same way as gear – but just like wand customization, Wand Handles don’t actually do anything other than change the appearance of your wand. You don’t have to use Wand Handles at all, but if you like the look of them, you should try equipping them.

Don't worry about putting your wand away.
When playing Hogwarts Legacy, you shouldn’t worry about having your wand out. Your character will put their own wand away automatically after you stop using it for a set period of time.
