To take down the big bad Piglins of the Nether, you’re going to need to get all of the available upgrades in Minecraft Legends eventually. You’ll need to collect every resource, expand your army, and get unique bonuses to come out victorious. However, there are some that you’ll need to prioritize to run your army optimally.

Resource upgrades

The first thing you should focus on is getting all of the resources in your banks. We’ve got a guide on where to find iron, coal, redstone, and diamonds, but before you can gather any of them you’ll need to build the corresponding upgrade.

It’s important to get all of them as quickly as you can, as you’ll need them for just about everything else going forward.

Storage upgrade

Second you should expand your storage space a bit. The default storage upgrade will increase your capacity for wood, stone, lapis, prismarine, and gold, all of which you’re going to need lots of at once.

Cure netherrack

Netherrack plagues the lands surrounding Piglin bases, and they prevent you from placing any of your structures or spawners. With this upgrade you can clear patches of netherrack, replacing it with grass where you can place whatever you want. It’s extremely useful for creating temporary bases or spawn points inside of a Piglin base.

Flames of Creation upgrades

Now you’ve got the basics set up you should look into expanding your army. The smaller of these upgrades, which adds 4 units to your army, is a waste of time. Instead, save up for the large upgrade which adds 10 units – this will see you through most of the mid-game.

Banner upgrades

There’s no point having a bigger army if you can’t command them, so as you upgrade your Flames of Creation, you must also upgrade our banner, which lets you lead more units at once in the field.

Wake the First

Now it’s time to beef up your army with the powerful First. We’ve got a guide on where to find the First, but you’ll need to purchase this upgrade before you can add them to your arm.

Collect Power Towers

Power Towers are the best defensive structures in the game, but they require you to dismantle existing towers you can discover out in the world. This upgrade will allow you to do just that.

Second resource upgrade

At this point, the structures you’re building may require more of each resource than you can carry. Focus on placing a second of each resource upgrade, as this will increase your maximum carrying capacity for each one.

Shared village chest

Now you’ve got the increased storage space, you can place this convenient upgrade. Villages will slowly generate resources over time that you can collect whenever you want. This upgrade connects every village chest in the world, meaning you only have to visit one to collect all the available resources.

Second Flames of Creation upgrade

Now you’ve got all of those resources, it’s time to expand your army once again. Place another large upgrade and take your army up to 40 capacity. This is all you’ll really need to beat the campaign on normal difficulty. Still, there’s no harm in pushing it up to 50 if you want to, just make sure you upgrade the banner too.

Allay upgrades

These last two upgrades aren’t in any way essential, but they might be nice to have if you can spare the prismarine. Getting yourself more Allays can make gathering and building quicker, but you can also get new Allays for free by finding chests in the world, so they’re not important.

Carpenter and Mason upgrades

The Carpenter will slowly repair any building in its radius, while the Mason will upgrade any nearby wooden structures to be made of stone. These upgrades will speed up these buildings, as well as make construction slightly quicker. Like the Allay upgrade, this is nice to have, but you won’t ever feel like you need it.
