My Time at Sandrock: how to get Bearings and Old Parts

How to get Bearings and Old Parts in My Time at Sandrock

In the early game of My Time at Sandrock, there are two items you’re going to need quite a lot of, and it’s not obvious at first how you’re supposed to get lots of them. Bearings and Old Parts come from most of the same sources, so we’ll explain how to get them easily so you can move on to bigger and better things in your Sandrock adventure.

If you’re a little further along in the game, you might need to know how to get Graphite in My Time at Sandrock, or be looking at how to get married in My Time at Sandrock.

You’ll need Bearings to complete the first major commissions you’re tasked with when arriving at Sandrock. You need to go into the Scrapyard just southeast of your workshop. You normally have to pay 200 Gols for a week pass, but at the start of the game, you’ll be given one for free.

There you should use your Pickhammer to dig up the junk pile to get Mechanical Scrap – you can also get a lot if a broken robot has spawned in the scrapyard. Take that Mechanical Scrap and put it in your Recycler, and you’ll have a very high chance of getting a Bearing.

While you can also get Old Parts from Mechanical Scrap, once you’ve completed the Crane Lift and access your first set of Abandoned Ruins, you’ll discover a much easier method to get Old Parts.

Using your scanner you can find glowing points of interest in the dirt. Digging through to them will give you a chance of getting relic pieces, Simple Circuits, or Old Parts. A full day spent in the Abandoned Ruins will earn you plenty of Old Parts for your projects.
