Pokémon Go’s Festival of Colors brings Mega Medicham, Bruxish debuts

Niantic has announced the Festival of Colors 2023 event for Pokémon Go, which will follow up on this weekend’s Catch Mastery. It’s the second outing for this event, which first debuted last year, and will have two Pokémon’s first appearances in the mobile game in store: Bruxish and Mega Medicham enter the stage.

As usual, it features a variety of bonuses, boosted Pokémon spawn rates, and raid battles as well.

Pokémon Go Festival of Colors: start time

Festival of Colors 2023 begins on March 8, 2023, at 10am local time. It’ll run for just under a week until March 14, 2023, at 8pm local time.

Festival of Colors 2023 has the following bonuses in store:

  • Lure Modules remain active for three hours.
  • Shiny Smeargle may appear during snapshots.
  • Friendship levels increase twice as fast.
  • PokéStops have a colorful surprise in store.

Festival of Colors 2023 will feature exclusive Field Research Tasks, which we’ll give you a detailed overview of once the event has begun. For now, here are the Pokémon you’ll be able to encounter as a reward:

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to encounter all Oricorio styles in Field Research Tasks. You will only find the style that’s “natural” to your respective region.

A Collection Challenge is also available during the event, allowing you to earn a Lure Module as well as 20,000 XP for completing it.
