One of the coolest new Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet is Kingambit (no, not King’s Gambit, that’s a Netflix show), the brand new final evolution for Pawniard and Bisharp. Kingambit is incredibly cool, but also fairly mysterious to evolve. You won’t get this evo just by leveling up, it’s a little more complicated.

If you want to evolve your Bisharp and add Kingambit to your Pokédex in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, then you need the information in this guide.

Where to catch Bisharp – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

This is the best place to find plenty of Bisharp.

This is the best place to find plenty of Bisharp.

You can actually catch Kingambit in 5-Star Tera Raids, but it’s a tough opponent, and you just might prefer evolving a Bisharp yourself. Even if you already have a Bisharp, you will need to know where they spawn in order to get one to evolve.

If you need to find Bisharp, you should look around Fury Falls, in North Province Area Two.

How to evolve Bisharp into Kingambit – Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Defeating three Bisharp holding Leader's Crests is essential.

Defeating three Bisharp holding Leader's Crests is essential.

This is a little complicated and has a few unexplained rules that can prevent it from working, but the bottom line is this: Bisharp evolves by defeating three other Bisharp that are leading a group of Pawniard.

Each Bisharp leading a Pawniard group is holding a Leader’s Crest, and it’s fighting Pokémon that hold this that triggers Kingambit’s evolution.

Keep this in mind: moves like Knock Off or Thief will remove the Leader’s Crest from the opposing Bisharp, meaning that defeating it will no longer count. If you wan to check for the item, you can use something like Frisk instead.

Once the task is done, level up Bisharp to begin evolving it.

After your Bisharp has defeated three other Bisharp that are holding Leader’s Crests, level it up using EXP Candy, and it should begin to evolve into Kingambit.
