Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader – how to clear the Ancient Bunker
The Ancient Bunker is a dungeon in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader that will have you hold your breath – quite literally, because it’s filled with poison gas that consistently damages your characters as you move around, putting you on a timer: Find a way to get fresh air circling into the structure or perish along with the former garrison of this place.
Fortunately for you, we are here to tell you how to clear the Ancient Bunker in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader without meeting an unworthy end.

You can find the Ancient Bunker on a desert world called Oasis V, which is located in the Nameless Star system.
This solar system contains three other worlds – two of them with some resources, the third empty – as well as a Warp Projection, which will put you through some skill tests should you decide to engage with it.

Since any HP loss will get healed by going back to your ship, you can actually take the Ancient Bunker step by step, exploring it very methodically. All you need to do is ensure that you make your way back to your shuttle early enough so that all of your characters still have some HP left.
Alternatively, you can use our map to quickly find the room controlling the power supply to the bunker. Be aware of the traps along the way, so bring a character with high Awareness and one with a good Demolition skill. Tech-Use will be another useful skill to have along for this one.
You need to get pretty deep into the bunker to find the control room.

Upon entering the room, you’ll note a valve you can interact with on the right. Do so and you’ll break off the wheel controlling the valve. Continue deeper into the room and you’ll find a Cogitator waiting for you, which will tell you that it doesn’t have enough power to do anything. Checking the options it offers, you’ll notice that it mentions a defense system – remember that for later.
After repairing the valve, this Cogitator allows you to restore the ventilation system.

Look around the room and you’ll notice a valve wheel on the floor to the right side of the Cogitator – pick this up and return to the valve in the previous room that you broke. Repair it with the wheel you found and interact with it now. This will enable you to reactivate the bunker’s air ventilation using the now-functioning Cogitator. With that done, your characters will no longer suffer wounds simply from breathing in the air around them and you can explore the rest of the bunker without pressure.
Use the Old Valve you find to repair the pipes.

You can find a hidden cache of resources right at the end of the bunker, where the way down is blocked. This secret storage contains an interesting lore item as well, providing another piece of proof that the Winterscale dynasty may not be the best potential ally to put trust into.

Remember that defense system the Cogitator mentioned? When you make your way back to the shuttle, four tough defense turrets will pop up and block the way. They pack quite a punch when they hit their targets, so make sure to use good positioning and force the turrets to fire on each other for some extra damage.
