Developer Remedy Entertainment has revealed more Alan Wake 2 gameplay at Summer Game Fest 2023, showcasing the haunting horror elements players can expect in this highly anticipated sequel to 2010’s Alan Wake.

Alan Wake 2 is a single-player survival horror game containing two different narratives that can be explored in any order the player chooses – one shows the perspective of horror story author Alan Wake, who’s gone missing and is now trying to escape his predicament, and the other shows FBI agent Saga Anderson’s experience, who finds herself embroiled in the supernatural horror story sprung from Wake’s head as she investigates a series of ritualistic murders in the town of Bright Falls. Yes, it’s going to be spooky.

Players will experience this all through the third-person perspective despite the predecessor’s focus on the action elements being toned in the sequel in favor of more horror.

Published by Epic Games, Alan Wake 2 is set to release on October 17, 2023, on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Remedy and Epic have already confirmed plans to launch a series of free DLC packs as well as two paid expansions called Night Springs and Lake House to support the game after release.
