Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s DLC packs, The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk, are still a long way off, but we’re already getting teases for some of the Pokémon that might be in store.
On last Friday’s episode of the brand new Pokémon anime – broadcast exclusively in Japan – our new protagonist, Liko, encountered a strange new tortoise-like Pokémon. It bears a striking resemblance to Terapagos, one of the Pokémon revealed in February as the main Pokémon of The Indigo Disk DLC.
Today we got further teasing as the official Pokémon Twitter account showed us another image of this new Pokémon but gave us no information on it. However, they did say that “It’s splendid aura is reminiscent of the Legendary Pokémon Terapagos”, so the link fans made previously seems to be correct.
There are a couple of different ways it could be related. Most likely seems to be a pre-evolved form of Terapagos, as it has a smaller and cuter design that is standard fare for baby Pokémon. However, there is also a possibility that these are related as Paradox Pokémon, similar to how Koraidon and Miradon are Paradox versions of Cyclizar.
As for now, there’s nothing to do but speculate, and hopefully, the storyline being teased in Pokémon Horizons: The Series will come to fruition soon enough.
