Remnant 2 will be released on July 25, 2023, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Publisher Gearbox and developer Gunfire Games have finally revealed the launch date during Summer Game Fest 2023, showcasing new gameplay alongside the announcement.

Remnant 2 is the sequel to 2019’s Remnant: From the Ashes and was initially announced during The Game Awards 2022. Described as a mix between third-person shooter and action RPG, the game is heavily inspired by FromSoftware’s Souls games.

Players can choose between different classes and even tech into dual-class options later on in the game, wielding up to two ranged weapons as well as a tool for melee combat. Remnant 2 is a single-player game primarily, but supports co-op gameplay for up to three players.

Procedural generation features heavily in the game’s design, as enemy types, regional visuals, bosses, NPCs, and even the game’s storyline and quests are randomly put together, lending itself to replayability.

Remnant 2’s predecessor received great critical and user scores, selling over three million copies in two years.

The game is set to release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
