One of the most exciting announcements during the latest Nintendo Direct was the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection, which isn’t just coming to Nintendo Switch. Players on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S will have to watch those wrist rockets and capture those command posts as well starting on March 14, 2024.

Developed by Aspyr, a studio specializing in remasters of older titles, the Classic Collection is not just bringing the two beloved Star Wars shooters to modern platforms, but is doing so with the bonus content that has been exclusive to Xbox in the past.

It's time to relive your childhood nostalgia.

Battlefront will include the Jabba’s Palace bonus map, while Battlefront 2 will feature Cloud City, the two Rhen Var maps, and Yavin 4: Arena as additional battlefields. Plus: Kit Fisto and Asajj Ventress, who were only available as heroes on Xbox back in the day, will be included as well.

As a cherry on top, Aspyr will enable players to dive into the Hero Assault game mode on all of the maps for the first time, not just a selection from the pool. Naturally, Galactic Conquest will make its return as a mode in Battlefront 2. Multiplayer will feature matches with up to 64 players.

And, not to forget, there are the campaigns as well. Battlefront 2’s depiction of the 501st Legion, which later became known as Vader’s Fist, living and fighting from the Clone Wars to the Battle of Endor is still regarded as one of the best stories told in Star Wars games. And you actually get to keep playing as the bad guys for once – take a hint, modern Battlefront 2.
