Supermassive Games, the studio behind titles like The Quarry and Until Dawn, has unveiled its single-player Dead by Daylight spin-off The Casting of Frank Stone with a trailer at The Game Awards 2023. It's coming in 2024.

You can watch the reveal trailer below:

Dead by Daylight is a commercially successful, if not exactly critically acclaimed, asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game made by Behaviour Interactive. A movie adaptation of the game is currently in development by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, while Supermassive announced its collaboration with the franchise to make a single-player game within it earlier this year.

While featuring original characters, the game brings together figures from many different horror media franchises, including Left 4 Dead, Saw, Halloween, Evil Dead, Stranger Things, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Alien. There are even some Attack on Titan characters to be had, so the range of crossovers has greatly expanded over the years since the game’s launch in 2016. There have also been crossovers with games like For Honor and PUBG.

By May 2022, Dead by Daylight has reportedly sold over 50 million copies across all platforms.

Supermassive Games' Dead by Daylight title is called The Casting of Frank Stone.

Supermassive Games’ title won’t be the first Dead by Daylight spin-off either: In 2022, a visual novel dating simulator based on the setting was released after a survey conducted by the devs had revealed that fans would be most interested in this genre.

Aside from the narrative single-player title from Supermassive, a co-op game made by Midwinter Entertainment is in the works as well. It’ll feature PvE content for four-player teams.

Based in Guildford, England, Supermassive Games has made a name for itself as one of the best horror game studios in the last few years, releasing Until Dawn, The Quarry, and several The Dark Pictures Anthology episodes.
