When it comes to family choices, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 protagonist Phyre is quite spoiled: She can become a melee powerhouse of the Brujah Clan, attain mastery of blood sorcery in the Tremere Clan, or – as has now been revealed – join the Banu Haqim to become a silent and stealthy bringer of death. That’s right: ninja vampires.

The Banu Haqim are a well-disciplined lot, known for their ability to keep their bloodlust in check. This is reinforced by a strict moral code, to which the Banu Haqim adhere. That doesn’t signal weakness, by any means: This clan moves swiftly to deal with perceived threats, doling out a deadly brand of justice based on their own sense of the concept.

The Banu Haqim specialize in silent takedowns.

They specialize in striking from the shadows, assassinating targets with precise stealth attacks. These silent takedowns allow them to whittle down superior numbers or vanish without a trace after completing their mission.

“Making Phyre a Banu Haqim changes how players approach combat, offering a unique perspective to the game’s world,” commented Alex Skidmore, Project Creative Director at developer The Chinese Room. “Players must approach encounters carefully to make the most of this clan’s gifts, timing their strikes with finesse and precision to achieve their goals. These Kindred are patient and careful, making them ideal for players looking for a strategic experience.”

Sean Greaney, Executive Vice President of World of Darkness at publisher Paradox Interactive, explained: “Banu Haqim are scholars, warriors, and guardians in Vampire: The Masquerade. Players eagerly awaiting a more tactical playstyle are getting the clan they’ve been anticipating. Each clan has distinct qualities that fulfill a unique player fantasy and shape how they experience Bloodlines 2. Kindred clans in Vampire: The Masquerade have their own long-lived worlds filled with history, motivations, and power structures. The Chinese Room has done an expert job translating these complex entities into an impactful RPG experience that is meaningful to players and feels at home in World of Darkness.”

Phyre will be able to join four clans in the launch version of the game with the final one being revealed before the year ends. Details on all the abilities each family can unlock for players will be shown next year. Those eagerly awaiting a gameplay reveal won’t need to be patient for all the much longer either, as this is set to happen in January 2024.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is set to be released in Fall 2024.
