Genshin Impact update 4.6 may feature a familiar boss and a map expansion

Looks like Arlecchino won’t join us voluntarily

It’s a time-honored tradition in Genshin Impact for Fatui Harbingers to become bosses we have to fight before they join the playable roster – and it looks like HoYoverse won’t break that tradition in the 4.6 update, which is going to add Arlecchino to the playable Genshin Impact characters.

Though we haven’t yet faced The Knave in combat – in fact, we’ve worked together with her pretty well during the Fontaine Archon Quest – early reports about the content of version 4.6 indicate this confrontation is still ahead of us. Leakers stated that Arlecchino will not only be playable in 4.6, she’s also going to become a weekly boss to fight.

Genshin Impact Fontaine character design Arlecchino.

Our frenemy-relationship with the Harbingers seems to continue in the form of Arlecchino.

Not much about the how or why of this encounter is known at the moment, though one specific detail has made its way online: According to the leakers, Arlecchino will face players armed with two sickle-like blades, one in each hand.

In tandem with Arlecchino, a new world boss will seemingly be introduced. This is supposedly a giant golem and you may need its materials to ascend Arlecchino.

Which brings us to the next item on the agenda for update 4.6 – yet another map expansion. It’s hard to believe that HoYoverse already has another brand-new sub-region in store shortly after rolling out a substantial area like Chenyu Vale, but this content machine seems to be well-oiled indeed. Rumor has it that the new area introduced with update 4.6 will be Remuria, which will be a separate map from Teyvat, similar to Enkanomiya and The Chasm. It is here that Arlecchino and this golem will await players.

This map expansion will allegedly close the remaining hole on the map of Teyvat found between Liyue, Sumeru, and Fontaine. It’s mostly going to be water with a small island in the center, on which – presumably – the entrance to Remuria will lie. Sumeru’s northern coast is included with this update as well, probably giving us the last addition to the Nation of Wisdom.

Please take all of this information with a grain of salt for the moment. Though mostly reliable, the Chinese community of HoYoverse leakers sometimes misinterprets things or reports stuff based on out-dated information.
