Dive into the depths of Fontaine with the best Genshin Impact Freminet build and find peace under the waves. Freminet is the third character from the new region to be made playable and pads out a very underdeveloped category of the game’s roster: physical damage. Wielding a claymore and having a Cryo Vision, Freminet is basically a budget version of Eula.

His Elemental Skill, Pressurized Floe, deals Cryo Damage and allows him to enter into the Pers Timer state for ten seconds. This converts his Normal Attacks to Shattering Pressure. Each hit by Shattering Pressure adds a level to the Pers Timer, up to Level 4. Depending on the level, the attack will have different characteristics:

  • Pers Timer Level 1 to 3: Vertical slash dealing Cryo and Physical Damage (damage is boosted according to Pers Timer Level)
  • Pers Timer Level 4: Consumes Pers Timer Levels to deal a big amount of Physical Damage in front of Freminet, converts Normal Attacks to Shattering Pressure even after Elemental Skill duration runs out.

Freminet was introduced to the game alongside his adopted siblings Lyney and Lynette.

Freminet’s Elemental Burst, Shadowhunter’s Ambush, deals Cryo Damage around him and resets the cooldown of his Elemental Skill. He then enters the Subnautical Hunter state for ten seconds. This decreases the cooldown of Pressurized Floe by 70% and triples the damage dealt by his Normal Attacks. Each hit also adds an additional level to the Pers Timer.

Best Freminet weapons – Genshin Impact

You can probably tell by his kit, but Freminet essentially fulfills the same role as Eula – and since he happens to be another claymore user, it’s likely not a surprise for you that her signature blade, Song of Broken Pines, is the best possible choice for Freminet. Adding Physical Damage, Attack Speed, and Attack to its wielder, this claymore is perfect for him.

Here are the best weapons for Freminet in Genshin Impact:

  • Song of Broken Pines (5-star claymore)
  • Beacon of the Reed Sea (5-star claymore)
  • Wolf’s Gravestone (5-star claymore)
  • Serpent Spine (4-star claymore)
  • Snow-Tombed Starsilver (4-star claymore)
  • Prototype Archaic (4-star claymore)

It's likely that Freminet will have some larger role to play over the course of the Fontaine story arc.

Best Freminet artifacts – Genshin Impact

Once again emulating Eula, Freminet’s optimal artifact set as a Physical Damage DPS is a full set of Pale Flame. It brings a 25% boost to Physical Damage to the table and increases Attack temporarily after hitting an enemy with Elemental Skills. Once the wearer has amassed two stacks of this effect, the 25% boost to Physical Damage is doubled – a potent damage multiplier.

You should get the following stat distribution on Freminet’s artifact set:

  • Flower: HP (main stat), Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Hit Damage, Attack (secondary stats)
  • Plume: Attack (main stat), Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Hit Damage, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Sands: Attack % (main stat), Attack, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Hit Damage, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Goblet: Physical Damage % (main stat), Attack %, Critical Hit Rate, Critical Hit Damage, Attack (secondary stats)
  • Circlet: Critical Hit Rate or Critical Hit Damage (main stat), Attack %, Critical Hit Rate or Critical Hit Damage, Attack, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)

Freminet is essentially a more affordable Eula.

Best Freminet teams – Genshin Impact

Freminet’s main role is to be on the field and deal damage – that means you won’t want to pair him up with Eula. As mentioned earlier, he’s basically a budget alternative. That also means that a team built for Eula will work great with him as well, even though his damage output won’t be able to match hers.

Freminet is the centerpiece of this team, spending most of his time on the field. Raiden Shogun or another Electro character with good off-field capabilities – think Fischl and Yae Miko – are on the job of providing Electro effects to trigger the Superconduct reaction, reducing the resistance of foes to Physical Damage. They generate Energy Particles as well, helping to charge Freminet’s Elemental Burst more quickly. That, in turn, means he can use his Elemental Skill more often, which is the key to get the most possible damage out of him.

Mika has been earmarked as a support character for Eula, providing a bit of healing, energy recharge, and a Physical Damage boost – naturally, all of that works for Freminet as well. The final slot can be filled by a support character of your choice, but a shielder like Diona, Layla, or Zhongli is definitely recommended.

Freminet ascension materials – Genshin Impact

You’ll want to quickly raise Freminet’s level when he joins you, which means that you’ll need to farm his ascension materials. You’ll also require some material to upgrade his talents.

Here’s what you need to get Freminet to level 90:

  • Shivada Jade Sliver x1
  • Shivada Jade Fragment x9
  • Shivada Jade Chunk x9
  • Shivada Jade Gemstone x6
  • Transoceanic Pearl x18
  • Transoceanic Chunk x30
  • Xenochromatic Crystal x36

Shivada Jades are available from any Cryo-affiliated boss on the world map, such as Coppelius in Fontaine. You’ll need to challenge this boss in any case, since Artificed Spare Clockwork Components are dropped by the mech. Transoceanic Pearls and Chunks as well as Xenochromatic Crystal are obtained from defeated Fontemer Aberrants, which you can only find underwater in Fontaine. Romaritime Flowers can be harvested in this region as well, so keep your eyes open while you explore the coasts of the region.

The best way to earn more Mora is to farm golden Ley Line Blossoms.

Here’s what you need to upgrade all of Freminet’s talents to their maximum level:

  • Transoceanic Pearl x18
  • Transoceanic Chunk x66
  • Xenochromatic Crystal x93
  • Teachings of Justice x9
  • Guide to Justice x63
  • Philosophies of Justice x114
  • Worldspan Fern x18
  • Crown of Insight x3
  • Mora x4,957,500

For the items already mentioned, check above. You’ll need to visit the Pale Forgotten Glory domain in Fontaine on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday to farm Scrolls of Justice. Worldspan Fern is a material you can only obtain in Sumeru, as you’ll need to defeat the Dendro Dragon Apep’s Guardian.

Crowns of Insight are a rare item gained from time-limited events or regional reward mechanics like the Tree of Dreams in Sumeru or the Grand Narukami Shrine in Inazuma.
