Last Epoch LE-65 error: What does the error code mean and can you fix it

What does the LE-65 error mean in Last Epoch, and is there an easy fix

Last Epoch had its full release via Steam last week after four years as an Early Access title, and the hack-and-slash RPG has had its fair share of long queues, server disconnects, and error codes. Just like Helldivers 2, another victim of its own success, Last Epoch has seen a sizeable influx of players, peaking at 258,503 during its first weekend. So, naturally, some gamers have experienced occasional issues when trying to connect, and the LE-65 error code has been one of the "most popular" that people get.

Here’s everything you need to know about the LE-65 error in Last Epoch and if there’s anything you can do about it.

What does the LE-65 error code mean in Last Epoch?

Alongside other error codes, [LE-65] with the message “Failed to connect to Game Server”, most likely indicates server-side issues related to a large number of players trying to connect to a specific server at the same time.

It may also mean that the server is unavailable at the moment due to an ongoing update deployment or an unplanned outage, although there are other error codes that usually indicate this.

How to fix LE-65 error in Last Epoch

Assuming that your own internet connection is fine, there is little you can do to fix the LE-65 error except wait for server load to ease down or try another server.

If you are getting the LE-65 error code, you can check Last Epoch’s official Twitter/X account for the latest updates on server status and disruptions. The Last Epoch Discord server is another place where the developers post regular updates about the game’s server status.

Last Epoch’s login menu also tells you the current server latency, so make sure you play on the best server for your region.

To minimize connectivity issues, make sure you play on the closest server for your region.

Some players have reported getting the LE-65 error while using a VPN, so you may also want to turn your VPN off, restart the game, and try connecting to the nearest server again.

Restarting the game and attempting to connect again is generally the first thing you should do. Making sure that you have the latest version of Last Epoch is another easy solution to try when running into errors of any kind.

Verifying your Last Epoch installation is the next step you can take whenever the game doesn’t work as expected. To do this, right-click on the game in your Steam library, select Properties, go to Installed Files and then click Verify integrity of game files. This may take a bit, but it will fix any issues with corrupted game files on your PC.

If all of the above solutions fail, you can always try playing Last Epoch in offline mode, but this means you will have to create an offline character and start over as your online progress and characters won’t be available.
