However, you’ll need the necessary mega energy to activate the mega evolution in the first place, for which you need to defeat Mega Pidgeot in raid battles.

Mega Pidgeot is a Flying- and Normal-type Pokémon, just like its base form. That leaves you with three very effective counter options: Electric, Ice, and Rock. Mega Pidgeot does not have a lot of strong countermeasures, so this should be easy going for you.

As usual, you can’t catch a Mega Pidgeot after defeating it. Instead, you get to catch a regular Pidgeot – though it might turn out to be Shiny – and you earn mega energy for the species. You get more of that, the quicker you finish the battle.
