We’re on Resident Evil 4 remake Chapter 15, and this is easily the most explosive chapter of the entire game. This one features Mike, the legendary helicopter pilot, and he’ll be helping you mow down the Ganado horde as you attempt to save Ashley Graham.

The Helicopter assault – RE4 Remake

This all kicks off pretty much as soon as you leave the starting area for the chapter. There are plenty of Ganados up ahead, but Mike is around in his helicopter and will help clear out foes.

As long as enemies are out in the open, Mike will help take them down for you, so it’s best to kite enemies into open spaces and keep them there. With that in mind, most of this level is a pretty linear combat challenge. Mike will blow the path open to the next area once the Ganados here are down. As you come around the corner, he’ll blow open yet another tower. 

Fight your way to the next and it’ll reveal anti-air guns. Turn right and down to the lower level, and then right again through the cave. Use the ladder behind the anti-air gun to get up behind it and open the door inside.

Now you need to fight your way up the stairs ahead of you to the mounted machine gun at the top – watch for rocket launchers on the opposite side. Once you reach the machine gun, use it to take out the anti-air guns. Mike will then come and open the next path for you. Get ready for more enemies.

This next area is the final for the helicopter section. Inside the blown-up gate, there will be mounted guns on your left and right. Head immediately left into the tunnel, and then use the ladder to get up top.

Clear through the Ganados and make sure the mounted guns aren’t being manned. There’s a switch on the upper level on both sides of the gate up ahead.

From here, you can follow the upper path to the right switch, and then sprint over the way to climb up towards the left switch.

Cliffside Ruins – RE4 Remake

That’s our time with Mike over, unfortunately. Now that we’re in the Cliffside Ruins, you can find one final Blue Medallions request. You’ll miss your chance to get them all if you progress any further.

A bunch of Novistadors will assault you. Keep heading through to the Specimen Storage area. There’ll be one Regenerador in this first area that you can’t avoid, so take them down. Before you head into the next area, be aware that there’s a Clockwork Castellan nearby, and that this door won’t let you return after.

This next area has two Regeneradors in, but if you crouch your way around the area, you can get out without fighting either. Don’t break the tempting boxes and avoid the low-hanging bags, and you’ll be able to escape without tempting fate.

Sanctuary Approach – RE4R

A bunch more enemies here. Tough ones, rocket launchers, Novistadors, a bullhead, and more. It’s a lot to deal with.

Take the left path, as it at least isn’t covered in mines. Once you get up to the top, even more enemies will spawn. You’ll need to enter the building on the right side in order to climb the stairs and get to the upper level, and then you can see a walkway leading into the next building – if you go outside, you’ve gone to the wrong building.

Sanctuary, curing the plagas – RE4 Remake

This is a quick cutscene and a very linear section. You basically just walk forward and use Luis’ Key when prompted. Inside the cutscene will play where Ashley is finally cured of the plagas inside her. Just in time, too!
