The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has a few basic shrines on the Great Sky Island that are meant to tutorialize a few new abilities and mechanics in Tears of the Kingdom – though, since it’s all new, you might get a bit stuck, and that’s fine, because we’re here to help.

Gutanbac Shrine is likely the second shrine you’ll come across while exploring the Great Sky Island in Tears of the Kingdom, and it helps explain the uses for the Ascend ability. Gutanbac Shrine guide – Zelda TOTK

You’ll get the Ascend ability as you enter this shrine, and you’ll need it throughout. First, go underneath the overhanging ledge ahead, and use Ascend from underneath to pass up through it and get above.

You can again use ascend on these longer stone pillars jutting out of the wall here.

There’s an enemy up here, so take care of it. 

Next, use a sharp weapon to cut the ropes attached to the stone slab ahead.

Then, use Ascend while underneath the stone slab. 

In the next area, use Ascend once again on the moving platform, and then again when the moving platform is underneath the overhang.
