Zelda Tears of the Kingdom: All Lightroot locations in the Depths
If you’re looking to fully explore the Depths of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you will have an incredibly tall task ahead of you. The Depths are treacherous, containing dozens of boss encounters and tough enemies, but it’s plentiful in Zonaite and weapons free of rust, not to mention rare armor pieces.
If you want to explore the Depths then Lightroots will help, as these will permanently light up sections of the Depths once activated, on top of acting as a Fast Travel point. Lightroots are sometimes awkwardly placed behind walls, deep in caverns, or high up on perchs. This can make them tough to find, even as they glow in the Depths. But that’s what this guide is for.
In this guide we’re listing every Lightroot by area with full maps so you can cross-reference these with your own in-game map of the Depths to find all of the Lightroots you’re missing. Each Lightroot corresponds with a Shrine on the Surface, and you can find those with our list of all Shrine locations.

How many Lightroots are in TOTK?– Zelda TOTK
There are a grand total of 120 Lightroots in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The location of each Lightroot exactly matches the location of one of the 120 Shrines that can be found on the Surface of Hyrule.

Once you have finally activated all 120 Lightroots in the Depths, you will be rewarded with an exclusive Key Item: the Dispelling Darkness Medal.
