Fortnite’s v23.30 update not only is full of exciting collab content, which you can check out in the patch notes, but also contains a whole host of interesting secrets that data miners are currently digging through.

It seems like Epic Games is working on a few big additions to Fortnite behind the scenes. Inside the latest update, data miners found hints at two exciting features: a first-person mode and a GTA-style wanted system.

Fortnite getting a first-person mode has been a consistent rumor for quite some time now, as new clues hinting at it pop up again and again under the game’s hood. The newest hint even seems to point at first-person mode coming to Fortnite’s core battle royale game mode.

Shiina, a well-known source for Fortnite leaks and data mining reports, believes the first-person mode to be released in 2023.

Fortnite has been a third-person shooter from the beginning and part of its appeal is the high level of customization it offers for player characters – a feature that would be severely undermined by the existence of a first-person mode, in which players can no longer see their own character.

However, Epic Games also introduced a game mode without building in 2022, doing away with another core mechanic, so it seems like they really aren’t all that concerned with giving users additional options on how they want to play the game.

The other big item was discovered by HYPEX, another reliable data miner specialized on Fortnite. They claim to have found information on Fortnite adding a wanted system in the style of GTA, which includes the ability to pay gold to reduce heat on yourself.

We currently don’t have any details on when these systems arrive, if at all, so take this information with a grain of salt.
