Honkai: Star Rail made a very brief appearance during the Summer Game Fest 2023 showcase, and while not a whole lot of new stuff was revealed, HoYoverse did at least provide a small update on the PS5 version of the game.

Honkai: Star Rail is set to be released on PS5 in Q4 2023, which pegs it somewhere between October and the end of December. That’s a pretty wide window, but we’d imagine it’s probably going to be a little closer to December than it is to October, given the timing of this announcement.

The trailer announcing the release window also featured a few new enemies, a big fighting tournament, and heaps of flashy action. We also saw Silver Wolf, one of the new characters introduced in the recent 1.1 update, Luka, who’s said to be coming in 1.2 later in the Summer, and Yukong, who’s set to run on a banner later in June.

Unfortunately, players hoping for a glimpse at Genshin Impact’s next region, Fontaine, were out of luck. While many were expecting a release date would be announced for the new region, Genshin didn’t make an appearance at all during the showcase. As far as we know, it’s still set to be released sometime later in the Summer, but we’ll have to wait for another day to find out.

Any further news will likely come in the form of a HoYoverse livestream, which are held frequently throughout the year. The last Honkai: Star Rail livestream was held in late May, after a small delay, and detailed all of the characters, features, and updates that came with version 1.1. We don’t know when the next livestream is set to take place, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for it.
