Madden NFL 24 reveals gameplay with Bills vs. Chiefs game
EA Sports has shown off Madden NFL 24 in a livestream today, broadcasting a match between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs – the homes of the quarterback superstars Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Allen, of course, is this year’s cover star for the series, but that doesn’t mean his team had an advantage going into the game.
This is EA Sports’ first official gameplay showcase after giving some theoretical deep dives into the mechanics as well as Franchise Mode last month. You can watch the clash of giants below:
Some fans have been quite happy with what they’ve seen so far, saying the gameplay is going in the right direction after EA Sports used the feedback from the beta test to finetune things. Others think the changes made don’t go far enough – a difficult balancing act the developers have to get right year after year with their sports games, since making changes that are too drastic might be detrimental to the series’ popularity with long-standing fans, who buy the games every year to get a similar experience.
However, not all is well in the Madden community despite the positive impression the game is making: A portion of fans, which was affected by a server error last year and lost its Madden NFL 23 saves, is still waiting on the 50% discount on Madden NFL 24 that EA Sports promised them as a way of compensating them for their lost franchises.
Madden NFL 24 will be released on August 18, 2023, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
