The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, had a special entrance in store for his appearance at Wrestle Kingdom 18: Paying tribute to Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series, which he is known to love, his entrance at the recent event featured a remix of Ezio’s Family, a beloved track from the OST of Assassin’s Creed 2, and showed stylized visuals of the series’ characters on the screens in the arena. The official Assassin’s Creed logo appeared next to Ospreay’s personal emblem as well.

That’s not all, though: Ospreay himself marched into the stadium dressed like a sexier version of Sir Jacob Frye, a master assassin from Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. This included the leather coat, a top hat, and the wrist blade characters in the series like to use for their lethal missions. Taking off the hat, the athlete then donned the trademark hood of the assassins to end his opening performance in style.

Ospreay’s entire wrestling persona is full of Assassin’s Creed references – his nickname, as mentioned above, is The Aerial Assassin, and one of his finishing moves is called Hidden Blade, consisting of Ospreay bringing his elbow to bear against the back of his opponent’s head as if was using a wrist blade for a silent kill.

This isn’t the first time Wrestle Kingdom saw a video game-themed entrance: During last year’s edition of the event, Kenny Omega entered the arena dressed up as iconic Final Fantasy villain Sepiroth, striding into the ring to the tunes of the bad guy’s music theme – a move Omega spoke to us about in an interview last year.

Gaming and professional wrestling crossovers have become surprisingly common – or, perhaps, unsurprisingly: Many performers gaining stardom nowadays are passionate gamers themselves and so are their fans, leading to ever more collaboration opportunities.
