Unleash the power of Guoba with the best Genshin Impact Xiangling build and you won’t ever need another Pyro character again. Seriously, this 4-Star polearm wielder is so powerful, there is a popular copypasta complaining about her omnipresence in Genshin Impact team builds. When it comes to off-field Pyro application, there is simply none better than Xiangling.

Her Elemental Skill, Guoba Attack, summons her loyal and adorable companion Guoba, who will deal Pyro Damage continuously for the duration of his summoning.

Xiangling’s Elemental Burst, Pyronado, creates a whirling body of flames around her, which deals Pyro Damage in an area of effect and keeps moving with her. Just like Guoba, the Pyronade will remain active when Xiangling is switched out of active use.

Xiangling is one of the earliest and strongest Genshin Impact characters.

Her Constellations further boost the power of Guoba and Pyronado, allowing Guoba to reduce the Pyro Resistance of enemies, increasing the duration of Pyronado, and enabling it to boost the party’s Pyro Damage during its activation.

Best Xiangling weapons – Genshin Impact

Xiangling mostly wants offensive stats, making Staff of the Scarlet Sands a powerful option for her. This polearm increases the Critical Hit Rate and allows its wielder to gain additional Attack based on their Elemental Mastery. This effect can even be enhanced by using Elemental Skills.

Here are the best weapons for Xiangling in Genshin Impact:

  • Staff of the Scarlet Sands (5-Star polearm)
  • Staff of Homa (5-Star polearm)
  • Engulfing Lightning (5-Star polearm)
  • The Catch (4-Star polearm)
  • Missive Windspear (4-Star polearm)

Guoba is a powerful, if sometimes not entirely reliable weapon.

Best Xiangling artifacts – Genshin Impact

Xiangling’s one weakness is the high cost of her Elemental Burst, which you can somewhat mitigate by choosing Emblem of Severed Fate as her artifact set. It provides an additional 20% Energy Recharge and increases the Elemental Burst damage by 25% of her overall Energy Recharge, offering some extra DPS in the process.

You’ll want the following stat distribution on Xiangling’s artifacts:

  • Flower: HP (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack % (secondary stats)
  • Plume: Attack (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack % (secondary stats)
  • Sands: Attack % (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)
  • Goblet: Pyro Damage % (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Hit Damage, Critical Hit Rate, Attack % (secondary stats)
  • Circlet: Critical Hit Damage or Critical Hit Rate (main stat), Energy Recharge, Critical Hit Damage or Critical Hit Rate, Attack %, Elemental Mastery (secondary stats)

Best Xiangling teams – Genshin Impact

Literally any on-field Main DPS that can trigger Pyro reactions will benefit from having Xiangling on their team – that copypasta we mentioned earlier isn’t far off the mark.

This is a powerful Vaporize team, in which Ayato or Tartaglia can take on the main role. Between the two of them, Xiangling and Bennett provide several damage boosting effects, healing, and a ton of Pyro effects from off the field. Kazuha is there for crown control and elemental resistance shred and can be replaced by Sucrose, Faruzan, Lynette, Jean, or any of the other Anemo units commonly seen in this role.

This variation of the infamous Raiden National Team has lots of off-field effects in store to make Raiden Shogun’s Elemental Burst a truly monstrous attack. Xingqiu was the go-to Hydro figure for this composition before Yelan’s release and still works fine, but Yelan provides more damage during the downtime periods of Raiden’s Elemental Burst. Xiangling and Bennett do the usual.

Xiangling ascension materials – Genshin Impact

You’ll want to quickly raise Xiangling’s level when you pull her, which means that you’ll need to farm her ascension materials. You’ll also require some material to upgrade her talents.

Here’s what you need to get Xiangling to level 90:

  • Agnidus Agate Sliver x1
  • Agnidus Agate Fragment x9
  • Agnidus Agate Chunk x9
  • Agnidus Agate Gemstone x6
  • Slime Condensate x18
  • Slime Secretions x30
  • Slime Concentrate x36
  • Jueyun Chili x168
  • Everflame Seed x46
  • Mora x2,092,530

Farming Agnidus Agate is pretty straightforward, as you can reliably get it from Pyro-affiliated enemies like the Pyro Hypostasis in Inazuma or the Pyro Regisvine in Liyue. You’ll want to fight the latter anyways, since this will give you the Everflame Seeds you need. Slimes can be found pretty much everywhere in Teyvat and will drop the Slime materials you require. Jueyun Chilies grow all over Liyue and can easily be farmed in your Teapot as well. As always, the best way to earn more Mora is to farm golden Ley Line Blossoms.

Guoba leaves behind some damage-boosting chili due to one of Xiangling's talents.

Here’s what you need to upgrade all of Xiangling’s talents to their maximum level:

  • Slime Condensate x18
  • Slime Secretions x66
  • Slime Concentrate x93
  • Teachings of Diligence x9
  • Guide to Diligence x63
  • Philosophies of Diligence x114
  • Dvalin’s Claw x18
  • Crown of Insight x3
  • Mora x4,957,500

To enhance Xiangling’s talents you’ll have to farm even more Slimes and Ley Line Blossoms. Books of Diligence are available from the Taishan Mansion Domain in Liyue on Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. Dvalin’s Claw is a boss material from fighting Stormterror at his lair. Crowns of Insight are available through time-limited events as well as regional reward tracks such as Inazuma’s Thunder Sakura, Sumeru’s Tree of Dreams, and Fontaine’s Fountain of Lucine.
