The Festival of Colors 2023 in Pokémon Go is here, offering not just a few monster debuts and a variety of bonuses, but also a series of event-exclusive Field Research Tasks as well as a timed Collection Challenge.

Completing these missions will enable you to claim different rewards, such as encounters with certain Pokémon, additional XP, and some items.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Pokémon Go Festival of Colors 2023 tasks.

Festival of Colors 2023: Field Research Tasks

You can get these Field Research Tasks by spinning PokéStops during Festival of Colors – that means you will be able to claim until March 14, 2023, at 8pm local time. Field Research Tasks are not timed, so you can complete them whenever you want after picking them up.

Here is every Field Research Task and reward for Festival of Colors 2023:

  • Catch 15 Pokémon: Alolan Grimer(s)
  • Catch 5 different species of Pokémon: Castform(s), Castform (Sunny)(s), Castform (Rainy)(s), or Castform (Snowy)(s)
  • Catch 8 different species of Pokémon: Burmy (Plant Cloak)(s), Burmy (Sand Cloak)(s), or Burmy (Trash Cloak)(s)
  • Catch 10 different species of Pokémon: Oricorio (Baile Style), Oricorio (Pom-Pom Style), Oricorio (Pa’u Style), or Oricorio (Sensu Style)

Pokémon marked with (s) may be encountered in their Shiny version.

Important to note: Oricorio will only appear in the Style of your respective area, as it is a regional Pokémon. Players in the Americas can find Pom-Pom Style Oricorio, users in Europe will meet Baile Style Oricorio, African, Asian, Pacific, and Caribbean Islands house Pa’u Style Oricorio, and the Asia-Pacific region gets Sensu Style Oricorio.

Festival of Colors 2023: Collection Challenge

Just like the Field Research Tasks, the Festival of Colors 2023 Collection Challenge is available until the event ends. However, unlike these quests, you’ll have to complete the challenge until then to obtain the associated rewards.

Here are the Pokémon you need to catch to get all rewards:

  • Koffing (wild spawn)
  • Stunky (wild spawn)
  • Wobbuffet (wild spawn)
  • Natu (wild spawn)
  • Shuckle (wild spawn)
  • Paras (wild spawn)
  • Krabby (wild spawn)
  • Bruxish (wild spawn, 1-star raid)
  • Burmy (Plant Cloak) (wild spawn, field research)
  • Burmy (Sand Cloak) (wild spawn, field research)
  • Burmy (Trash Cloak) (wild spawn, field research)
  • Mothim (evolution)

If you collect all of these Pokémon before the Festival of Colors ends, you’ll gain 20,000 XP and one Lure Module.
