Here’s what you can play right now after Nintendo’s February Direct
The Nintendo Direct show on February 8, 2023, was a big hot among Nintendo fans, announcing a ton of exciting things to look forward to: Pikmin 4 finally got a release date, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games are coming to Switch Online, Metroid Prime Remastered was announced and immediately released, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom got a new trailer, the Advance Wars remakes are confirmed to come out in April, and a brand-new Professor Layton game is in development.
As the surprise drop of Metroid Prime Remastered shows, however, not everything announced at the showcase lies in the future. Here is everything shown in Nintendo’s February Direct that is playable right now.

February Nintendo Direct: Demos
Nintendo released a couple of free demos to show off upcoming games, which you can download and play right now:
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Sea of Stars
- Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe
A new wave of DLC was also announced for Fire Emblem Engage, which is available now for free if you subscribe to the Switch Online Expansion Pass.
February Nintendo Direct: Game Boy and Game Boy Advance
One of the highlights of Nintendo’s show was the announcement of many Game Boy and Game Boy Advance titles becoming available on Nintendo Switch through Switch Online.
The Game Boy games will be available via the basic package, but the Advance games require the Expansion Pass subscription.

February Nintendo Direct: Metroid Prime and Baseball
Nintendo Direct also had the announcement and immediate release of two new games in store: Metroid Prime Remastered stole the show, of course, as it’s highly regarded by fans of the series and will be a welcome distraction from the development woes of the current Metroid project.
Then there’s WBSC eBaseball Power Pros, which is offered as an absolute bargain for under $1. It may not be incredibly realistic, but the cute style makes more than up for it.
